SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a rigorous framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It focuses on the security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of customer data within a service organization. SOC 2 has two types, Type 1 and Type 2.
  • Type 1 evaluates the design of system controls at a point in time.
  • Type 2 certification goes a step further by assessing how well these controls are implemented over a specified period, typically a minimum of six months.
