Recognition schedules are created automatically when subscriptions are activated or invoices are finalized. Each line item generates its own schedule based on service period and billing terms. Annual contracts paid upfront spread revenue across 12 months, while monthly subscriptions recognize in the period billed. When subscriptions change (upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, or amendments), schedules adjust automatically. Remaining deferred revenue is recalculated and future periods updated to reflect new terms.
