Measure Contracts allow you to create different contract templates to meet all your sales needs. These templates can be customized to dynamically include all the variables and inputs added to the contract. Template management capabilities: Measure provides comprehensive template creation and customization tools, supporting both new template development and modification of existing templates for evolving business needs.

Template Types

Measure supports two distinct template types optimized for different business processes: Sales Contract Templates: Used for CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) workflows and revenue-generating agreements. These templates include advanced pricing variables and are designed for transactions that create subscriptions and revenue. Agreement Templates: Used for non-transactional documents like NDAs, MSAs, and DPAs. These templates don’t include pricing or payment terms and are designed for formal, administrative agreements.

Creating Templates

When creating a new template, you’ll define the contract structure with static text and dynamic variables. The template editor allows you to write the full contract body and insert placeholders for dynamic content that will be populated when creating individual contracts. All templates require specific signature fields to ensure proper execution. Sales Contract templates require a pricing table and at least one signature field. Agreement templates require only a signature field, giving you maximum flexibility for various document types.

Dynamic Content and Variable System

Flexible content integration: Templates support comprehensive contract text with dynamic variable insertion, enabling personalized contract generation while maintaining consistent formatting and legal language. Variable categories available:
  • Customer variables: Automatically populate customer-specific information including organization name, contact details, and account information
  • Signatory variables: Manage external signatory details for contract execution and approval workflows
  • Counter Signatory variables: Handle internal signatory information for contracts requiring company approval
Multi-signature support: Templates with multiple external signatures or counter signatures automatically display the appropriate input fields during contract creation based on the variables included in the template.
  • Contract variables: Dynamic insertion of contract terms including pricing information, start dates, net terms, and other deal-specific details
Sales Contract exclusives: Advanced pricing variables such as “Pricing Information”, “ACV”, “TCV”, “Minimum Spend”, and “Currency” are specifically available for Sales Contract templates to support comprehensive CPQ workflows.
  • Company variables: Standardized company information including legal name, address, and contact details for consistent branding across all contracts

Customer Input Fields

Templates can include fields that customers complete when reviewing and signing the contract. This allows you to collect information directly from the customer during the signing process rather than requiring it upfront. Available customer input types:
  • Billing email: Collect the customer’s billing email for invoice delivery. This is automatically saved back to the customer record.
  • Billing address: Capture the customer’s billing address for invoicing and tax purposes. This is automatically saved back to the customer record.
  • Custom text fields: Add any additional text fields for information you need the customer to provide, such as PO numbers, department codes, or other business-specific data
Customer input fields appear as fillable form fields in the contract document. The customer completes these fields before signing, and the entered information is captured and stored with the contract document.
